Usually, I see no visual or other indication whatsoever about there being a pending update until I actually shut down the machine. If it's some kind of critical "0-day hack" that's being fixed, I would understand it, but if such is the case, and I'm vulnerable every minute I remain online, I would actually want it to force me to restart immediately - not just "subtly" display that nag icon in the Notification area. You'd think that their "AI" would know that I always shut down my machine every day for the night, and not feel the need to force-display that icon until I give in. I've already gone through all the settings in the entire OS to make it respect me as much as possible, but it still shows that icon.

It's simply not practical to reboot whenever Windows thinks feels like it. It's a chore alone to close all the stuff I'm doing.
